Mineral Paint: The versatile paint for almost any surface
Our Mineral Paint is a high-quality textured paint with a subtle grain, perfect for a wide range of applications. The unique thing about this paint is that you can apply it to almost any surface, making it an excellent choice for walls and ceilings as well as furniture and kitchen countertops.
On what surfaces can you apply Mineral Paint?
Mineral Paint is incredibly versatile and suitable for a variety of materials, including:
- Plastered substrates
- Plaster
- Wood
- Steel
- Plastic
- Stone
- Tile walls
You can also apply Mineral Paint to tile walls. We recommend leveling the tile wall first for best results. This can be done, for example, with Ardex R1C, a renovation plaster that fills the joints and smoothens the wall. This treatment ensures that you get a tight, flat surface, so the tile pattern is no longer visible. This is how you create a beautiful, seamless finish with Mineral Paint.
Depending on the substrate, it is important to use the right primer for optimal adhesion:
Mineral Primer is suitable for absorbent substrates such as plastered walls, gypsum and concrete.
Mineral Grip Primer is suitable for non-absorbent substrates such as wood, steel, plastic and stone.
Where can you apply Mineral Paint?
The possibilities are endless. You can use this paint for:
- Walls and ceilings
- Tables and cabinets
- Kitchen cabinets and countertops
- Stairs and doors
- Toilet and bathroom walls (not in the shower area)
Mineral Paint can be applied in several ways, depending on the desired effect:
Block brush technique: Apply two coats with a block brush, which preserves the grain texture.
Concrete Ciré effect without grain: Apply first coat with a block brush, apply second coat with a block brush and immediately chip out with a spackle knife.
Sanding technique: Apply two coats with a block brush and sand the second coat with 220-grit paper after drying for a Concrete Ciré look with visible block brush marks.
Roller and spackle knife: Roll up paint with a thick coat roller and immediately chip out per square meter with a spackle knife.
Protection and finishing
For long-lasting results, it is important to properly protect the paint:
For bathrooms (outside the shower area), restrooms and kitchens, we recommend 1K Coating.
For heavily used surfaces such as kitchen countertops, stairs and tables, 2K Coating is necessary for extra durability.
Color Options
We mix all the colors ourselves, so there are a huge number of possibilities. Whether you want a warm earth tone or a cool industrial color, we will provide the perfect match.
