Ardex R1C is ideal for glazing and plastering walls and ceilings. To which is applied: wallpaper, paint, decorative plasters, decorative plaster and other wall coverings. Filling of cracks, holes, slots and seams on drywall. For indoor use only!
Applying:
Should be dry, solid, load-bearing and free of dust, dirt and other contaminants. Old, poorly adhesive or weakly bonded paints, poor stucco coatings and wallpaper must be removed. First prime the substrate thinly and fill any joints. Once the primer has dried, after approx. 30 - 60 minutes, the final coat can be applied in the desired thickness.
In a clean mixing vessel, serve clean water and under vigorous mixing add so much powder that an even, pasty, lump-free, stable mortar is formed. Mixing 25 kg of Ardex R1C requires about 12.5 l of water.
We recommend mixing only as much material as you can handle within 30 minutes.
After mixing it 1- 3 minutes again, the mortar can be processed for about 30 minutes at +20 °C and can be applied immediately in the desired layer thickness of up to 10 mm.
Already after about 40 minutes after applying the mortar, the surface can be finished. Depending on the suction of the substrate and the temperature, this is possible for about 20 - 30 minutes.
To make reasonably smooth surfaces for most applications, tightly finish the applied mortar after tightening with the flat trowel. For making very smooth surfaces, the mortar can be finished again with a slightly damp sponge within the "sponge time" of about 50 minutes.
The surface can also be sanded first and then finished tightly with the flat trowel.Higher temperatures shorten and lower temperatures lengthen the hardening and finishing times.
If in doubt, make a test. Process Ardex R1C above +5 °C.Mixing ratio: 1 part water to 2 parts powder.
